It's hard to believe that a year has already passed since we launched A Team Coaching, our family business dedicated to creating lasting systems change.
A year ago, I made a bold decision to serve and influence the public in a new way. Looking back, I believe it was fate that led me to apply everything I learned from my father's entrepreneurial spirit, tenacity, and legacy to continue building my own path.
In April 2023, we celebrated the 19th anniversary of my dad's return home after battling stomach cancer. His words have stayed with me: "Don't settle for anything less than you believe you deserve, and take risks." This unshakeable spirit that encourages us to break out of the mold, I believe is true to Nelson Mandela’s mantra, "There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

I'm grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey, as we pave the way to creating transformative change together. This includes our clients, who have trusted us to help weave equity, diversity, and inclusion practices into their policies, processes, and workplace cultures, through thoughtful, intentional leadership and collaboration.
Since the beginning of A Team Coaching, our mission has been to make a positive impact, empower individuals and teams, drive change, educate organizations, and challenge the status quo. We are proud to have started meaningful conversations through keynotes, educational training sessions, panels, workshops, policy reviews, and community collaborations.
Threading Generations of Knowledge.
Having a family business is not unique. But what has been unique for us is that our work brings our family and friends together across varying generations, skill sets, beliefs, and perspectives. This makes our way of working with clients and organizations distinctive and engaging. A family business has the opportunity to become the kind of legacy that threads generations of knowledge together. It can become something that stands on the hard work of those who are no longer with us but got us here. Our work is something that I believe honours the commitment and sacrifices past generations have made so we can have a better life. Now, through A Team, we are holding ourselves and each other accountable to honour this by applying our talents and gifts to the making of a new, more inclusive, and equitable future.
We are proud to have hosted the Black Girls Pillow Initiative run by Angelina Simmonds, an event that creates a space for Black girls to connect and share. Since last fall, these sessions have made space for Black girls to be heard, engage in heartfelt conversations, and incorporate self-care and culturally informed wellness practices into their lives, guided by Black female peers.
Additionally, we ran the first A Team Precision Play Camp through Adré Simmonds, aimed at building a community of resilient and responsible young men through the power of football. We look forward to spreading more knowledge and guidance as we continue to grow our company.

I hope through my journey I continue to inspire and influence others to find their voice and passion as they build their future and empower everyone to believe in theirs.
